"man up"... the most over-used expression of 2007... anyway, you can't worry about messing things up. You just gotta do it. You learn by making mistakes. David @ Xtreme RC Hobbies (www.xtreme-rc-hobbies.net) makes custom links. |

i was just talking about this with a friend tonight. I buy brake line and cut to length, then put the 6/32 tap'r in a cordless drill. Set her to low, dip the tap in some oil and thread away. when you get deep enough reverse the drill and back out. If you start getting resistance on the tap reverse it ,clean the debris and head back in. Really simple. Oh put the brake line in vise. forgot about that!

LOL. Go to home depot, or whatever your local hardware store is. get some threaded rod. get some aluminum tubing that is big enough to fit the threaded rod through. Buy some rod ends. thread one rod end onto the threaded rod (hold it up to your chassis and axle to mock up how long you want the link to be) cut the threaded rod. thread another rod end on the other side and measure the length of exposed threaded rod (this is the length you need to cut the aluminum tube) cut aluminum tube. Unscrew one rod end, slide aluminum tubing on and re screw the rod end on. You have a link. Be sure to make two of equal length. Cheep and easy. |
