| New Builder, suggestions/ help would be appreciated
Ok, so i have a tlt1 and i began to turn the stock one into a crawler (longer links and dogbone, etc...) but now ive decided to make a 2.2 scale truck. I like building static kits, kitbashing and scratchbuilding so i thought that this would be the perfect medium between my love of models and RC. Ive been looking over the site for the last week or so and ive decided on either getting the bronco body or the FJ-40. Ill be posting a general sketch for the chassis by the weekend hopefully, so i can get critiqued on that. Im going to wait to post my questions until i do some more searching on both of those trucks; while i dont intend on making a perfectly accurated vehicle, id like to do a full frame(pending my friend being able to weld it for me) and a full interior. Any suggestions on a frame design, shock placement/ design and interior techniques would be appreciated very much! Thanks!

If i want to make a completely scale appearance inside of the body, how would i make a tranny that is short enough to accomodate a interior? If i were to use a stampede transmission, how would i use the traxxas drive shaft with the tlt axle, is there an adaptor. Also i am not sure how to mount my shocks to the chassis (directly to it or on a flange above it. (If people reading this think im a complete idiot, please dont, ive been in RC (planes, cars, and trucks for about 10 years. Ive just never ventured into something this sophisticated before. I dont see the problem with questions so thats why i ask them (yes ive searched and the results are vague to what im looking for, aside from looking at all of the scale builds for help, directly talking with people is my best bet.) |

From the sounds of it.. You might be better off buying a Scale Frame from a Vendor.

I'm guessing since you asked about an adapter they are not compatable. Last edited by Rockrookey; 01-04-2008 at 03:17 AM. | |
