Default Hpi E10

I was browsing tower and saw this. The HPI E-10, 1/10th shaft driven car. You can get it with electronics for 79.99 and since thats what i always throw away first, i couldn't pass it up. Now onto motor suggestions. I was thinking the mamba max 6900 setup like my firestorm has would be nice. the tray will only hold 6 cells so i want to optimize for that. i'll grab a 6 cell pack from maxamps later on, but i can't decide what motor/esc setup i should go with. any ideas?

novak setup, sidewinder, mamba max, what do you think?

I was just doing research on the E10 for a possible rally car conversion... there are not many upgrades for the E10 yet, let along a metal drive shaft. If you toss something like a 6900Kv motor, kiss that driveshaft good buy, FAST! A mild, low turn brushed motor would be a better choice.

If your looking at 4WD shaft cars, a TC3's on eBay are really cheap and some Tamiya's can be had for very little... both cars can a lot of aftermarket support for upgrades.

it was too late to cancel the order when i saw it has plastic shafts. I saw shaft driven 4wd with metal diff gears and assumed those black dogbones were metal. kinda disappointed. Overall the car looks pretty solid though. I have never been disappointed in HPI's stuff. I may have to get a driveline machined.

The outer dogbones are metal(I believe), the center driveshaft that runs the length of the chassis is the plastic part.
