Default anyone fried a waterproof XL-5 yet?

my brothers XL5 in his slash just fried. the throttle wasnt responding so i swapped to a novak XXtra RX and an mx3s radio. still no throttle, steering, but no throttle. then the factory smoke got out. any idea on what killed it? im gonna call the LHS in the morning and my brother is gonna call traxxas to see if there is any warranty on it.

That has to be a factory defect, I opened mine up and the circuit board is sealed in some sort of plastic? Or maybe it happened when/if it was totally submersed. I just don't see how any water spray can damage it.

With the slash came a lifetime warranty card on the XL-5 and some other stuff. Traxxas is amazing with their warranty. I would register the truck online first and its smooth sailing.
