Default An old project brought back to life.. 2.2 Trophy Bronco?

So I sold this project off to a friend and I recently aqquired it back from him.. It had been a shelf bunny collecting dust, unfinished.. So I got the bug to create something(or finish) and so this gem back into my hands.

Tons more to come.. This is just a quick post and pics..

i remember that build, came out right after my IFS chevy TT build. your chassis was origonally designed for a clod body right?

i like your motor to yoke adapter, thats a good idea

I dig the front suspension! how well does that direct drive work without a slipper? is the gearing low enough?

Very cool looking. At first I thought it was just a stampede with a good looking bronco body on it.... but I was wrong. Lots of innovation under there!

Yup same one.. Though I don't want it to sound like I was copying you, because I was working on it before I saw yours. :-) I love your build. I still have it subscribed.

I haven't really played with it yet.. I haven't had the time.. Barely had the time to post it up.. Work is really busy right now.. But the little I did mess with it, it worked great. It still reminds to be seen if it'll be ok. Bolt-up-wise, I don't see it breaking or coming off. It's pretty solid.

The whole truck is gonna go through a rebuild though. I want to rebuild my axles and do some serious finishing touches to make it look cherry and make the parts move a little more smoothly.

They are HPI, but I couldn't tell you exactly which ones, it's been a while since I bought them... I got them because they had ball ends on both ends.. And they're a little longer than the standard 4 inch shocks.

yeah that sounds like MT2 (the color is a giveaway too) they had 4" front shocks, and 4.5" rear shocks. one of the best shocks ive owned to date.

Glad to know it has such a good track record... I have to change the oil in them when I do a rebuild on the whole thing.. I've only ever made crawlers, got any suggestions as to what weight oil to use?
