| Traxxas 4-Tec Pro VXL Almost 10 years ago I bought one of Traxxas' new electric 4-Tec Touring Sedans as an unassembled kit and their graphite conversion chassis and shorty Big Bore shocks for it. I ran it for several years and even took it up to where I was running a 12 turn motor and 7 cell battery pack in it. After buying my XJ in '03 I ran it a for the rest of the season and took it apart to clean up and never really put back together. I'd acquired parts over the years to do more to it but never really touched it much beyond that. Then I also acquired a Nitro 4-Tec in 2001 and after spending a bunch of time modding and tinkering with it I just decided nitro wasn't for me and put that away. Well this past Christmas I received a bunch of money and started to revive my Bandit and decided to bring the E4T back from the dead as well. Now the Bandit is just a little bit of work away from being completed and and the E-Revo is pretty well built to where I want it with the Titan 775 for now, I was feeling the itch to tinker Monday while I had the day off work and started to pull the diffs and suspension from the Nitro 4-Tec. One thing lead to another and by 3am Tuesday morning I had this then had to be to work at 9:45 that same morning Between what tinkering I'd done in the past and what I did Monday, here's where I'm at so far; Traxxas Graphite Chassis conversion (now disco'd :-() Traxxas Shorty Big Bore shocks (can't remember what springs though) Traxxas Aluminum top shaft pulleys Traxxas sway bars for both the Nitro and Electric (nitro ones are installed) Traxxas aluminum wheels hexes Traxxas 2070 digital servo Traxxas Velineon Motor and Speed Control Nitro 4-Tec Suspension and steering parts with Ti turnbuckles and hinge pins (Ti parts are also now disco'd:-() Nitro 4-Tec drive shafts and diffs with their steel outdrive yokes Nitro 4-Tec steering bell cranks Modded the stock battery hold downs s I could put smaller 7 cell packs in it, did find that TrueRC's 4000mAh 11.1v pack fits nicely too Full Boca Green Seal Bearings HPI A847 or A848 drive belt in place of the way too weak stocker I have chosen a body for it now too, if anybody is familiar with the horror movie Phantasm and the hero car....you've probably just figured out where I'm going with the body by now |

looks really good. that was the first hobby quality car i ever bought. only thing i would worry abaout is the diff outputs. they are kind of weak where they come out to the diff sides, and the sides will round off. i think that will be the weak link. thanks

That'll be the advantage of thd nitro diffs and shafts, they're way stronger than stock!

Thanks, just wait until I can get the Cuda AAR body painted for it though. I'm planning on shooting it in black, with matt black hood and spoilers (like the normal AAR's), then spray bedliner on the roof to look like a vinyl top and mount up a set of HPI's gunmetal colored Minilite clone Vintage wheels and tires!
