the car im working with is the traxxas street sport. i saw the regular looking touring car wheels and thought they were standard wheels.

how fast you wanna go really depends on how much money you want to spend..of the batt i,d say mamba max 5700 is real good bang for the buck..2s will be nuts and 3s will undrivable in a 2wd car....actually just used the rc calculator ans your car would hit 89 mph with a 5700 on 2s..actually getting to that speed will be very hard

89mph would be fun. plenty fast for the streets where i live. whats the difference in the mamba 5700 and the others? i think i read thats the rpm of the motor per volt?

ya the 5700 is the rpm per volt..you might be better off with a 4600 system..the 5700 system is the fastest because you can run it at 3s and get more rpm than the 6900 or 7700

Google is great

89mph huh? That's just not going to happen unless you get REALLY creative, and then it still won't happen.

just did a quick glance through of that link. i saw 60 mph?
if thats all that guy could manage theres something wrong with him. his first and biggest problem i saw was tire choice.

i don't think 89 mph is that unreasonable. just because he couldn't doesn't mean it cant be done

really tricky after 60 mph..wind resistance ,tires usually wont stay on rims and cars tend to want to start flying..lol, need the right body with lots of downforce, weight in the right place..foam tires..good luck with it, when you do run it get some vid..make sure your using a good radio sytem ..it doesnt take long for a car to go out of range on speed runs

been a while but i figure i'll let you know how the first run went.

i dont feel like typing a huge story so i'll just cliff note it

2 cell = 35-40mph = boring
4 cell = loss of forward in speedo. eventually fried 27t motor.

cheap tamiya silver can held up pretty good but 50+mph in reverse ended in wheel failure. oh and this car had zero traction almost the entire time

according to the specs on the side of the 27t i had it spinning at 59,000rpm's at 14.8v

heres a few pics

my tamiya tt-01 with a 5700kv, 3s, 55t spur 25t pinion will run 60+. i have to use foams tires cause the rubber tires swell up and blow off the rims. thought maybe this would help you out some.

I ran into the same problems onn my M-03 Mini Cooper last week running a Mamba Sidewinder/4600 combo and TP 3S pack. Belted rubber tires are fine on the back since it's fwd, but I had to put TC foams on the front because it kept ripping the sidewalls out of the belted tires I was trying to run on the right front

I love the carnage you inflicted on the poor car. Nothing is better than overpowering simple rc cars. Cool looking front wheels in the last pic. What are they from ?
