Default Solid Axle Short Course Build

I am helping my friend do his first "scratch" build. Its going to be a 4x4 short course truck with a solid rear axle....

Here is the list of goodies we have so far:

HPI MT2 front end

HPI Wheely King rear axle

Axial Transmission

Lots and lots of brake line!

Lots of Aluminum!

More to come later this week

I'm watching this one.
A lot of solid axle short coursers have been built lately. But 4wd ones are harder to come by.

cant wait to see this

How bout putting some good info like dimensions and whatnot so others may follow in the footsteps

Made some more progress this week!

Got the steering all set up, but we need some help!

What do you guys think we should do for mounting the rear 4-link?

Brackets on the floor pan, tubes coming from the rollcage, etc...

Feel free to goober all over the photo's in paintbrush to show what your thinking

Your upper links look way to short.

yea i was going to say that too. my truck is longer anyway but on it the links needed to be pretty long on it. my links were like 6.5 inches or so. the hard part about building these trucks is finding the space for everything. good start though. remember the more planning the better. i worked on mine for a few months in my head and on paper before ever buying any materials.

I agree, but first and foremost great start. You should make a link mount that puts the ends right over the centerline of the axles, also spread the links out at the chassis end as wide as you can. keep up the good work.
