| 32 Ford 5 window coupe
Alrighty guys I figured I would jump off the off road band wagon for a bit and whip up something different . This is going to be a scale 32 coupe with all the details . It will feature : -Highly detailed hemi motor -HPI vintage wheels , shiny chrome -Custom styrene 5 window coupe body , painted red -C channel frame , later powder coated high gloss red -Full interior , painted and lit dash -Opening doors and trunk -LED kit of coarse -Rear ladder bar and front "hair pin" suspension -Steering wheel will turn left and right with wheels -Flocking , lots of it. ( flocking is the fuzzy stuff that usually lines the insides of jewelery boxes. Or on those fuzzy posters of like zeberas that come with the markers in the craft section at walmart) That is what I have come up with so far . Here are some insperation pics. The first one is dead on how I want my car set up frame and suspension wise. The second is the over all look I am going for . Exept mine will be 5 window. Here is the motor I will be using . That particular one in the pic is not mine but I have the same one on the way. Now these are the rims . I need you guys to help me out with tires . Which style should I get ? The ones on the rims (choice A) or the ones standing alone (choice B) A B I am leaning toward B . I am basically waiting on parts but when the build starts , I will be adding pics . Any ideas are welcome |

you need tire choice A, they look like a mickey thomson et street, a tire that is commonly used on street rods. it would be more of a "correct" looking tire.

going to be hard to find skinny fronts that have tread. you could use rj speed dragster o-ring wheels, however it may not look right scale wise.

I don't know how the sizes run but you may be able to find an RC motorcycle tire for the front that will work. I like both tire choices for the rear, but I would personaly go with choice A cause they look like Sticky Mickey's. I would go with whichever you like best tho.

I would lean toward style A, as well, but the biggest consideration IMO would be the size the tires are offered in. Personally, I prefer the taller/narrower profile on rods like this. And the front tires would need to be narrower and the same height or just a smidge shorter. The tires that I could find that fit the scale best are the ones I'd go with. But it ain't my car. ;) Cool project and I look forward to more updates...

Ya thats the only scale motor I can find in this scale. I am not worried about the width of the tire for the front when I get it, in the end it will be skinny . I have already planned that the front wheel and tire have a date with the hobby knife I would like the wheels in the back to be taller in the back then in the front but that might be the one thing I might not be able to do. | |

What scale is the hemi & scale of the build ? Will it be RC ? I did a parma hemi for a valve cover racer. I think parma had some other motors also, at that time. Actually, I have a 1:1 32 3 window. Neat project, I'll be watching with interest.

Both the hemi motor and the build will be around 1/10 scale. I wanted a ford motor or even a chevy motor but the hemi was the perfect scale and looks cool at that .

Ok well I did a little thinking about the body . It is all from scratch so will be kinda hard but then I thought , its a fairly simple design. The car does noy have to many curves and it has simple body lines . So I thought , what if I could just print off the side image of a car to the size I want it , transfer over to styrene and BAM ! Instant car. I thought about it , then I did it . Here I found a basic side image of a 32 5 window coupe. opened it up in MS paint , and enlarged the image until the wheels were 2 inches in diameter (that is the diameter of the hpi vintage wheels I am using) and I will print it out , transfer it , cut and sha-zam . Perfect body . Here are a few pics of my plans. Now I did figure out that it was very easy to make body mods to the car now VS later . Thats what the pic with the red lines shows but I will wxplain when I get there . Started out with this . Very simple side rendering of a 32. Got rid of the top view . Now the red lines are there for a reason . It shows how much I modded the body . The top line shows how much I chopped the roof. The second will show how much I sectioned the body and the third (bottom) is how much lower it will sit on the frame (body dropped). Now here is the side by side . The first one is what I started with , and the second is what my car will look like when its all said and done . I will do the same type of planning with this frame pic . More on that later . Well thats alluntil I get parts . Thanks for all the support and interest . Comments thoughts suggestions and smart ass remarks always welcome |

That's what I would probably try and do. My dad has a 30' 5 window with a blown sbc in it, definitely some cool cars
