Default rc18 questions

im bout to get a rc18t and i had a some questions.

what type of stearing servo is in there?

will the mongoose micros' brushless system work?

this one i prolly know the answer to: do i need a bec?

I've had good luck with the Hitec HS-65MG. It's pretty much a drop-in replacement as long as you get the hitec servo saver kit. Do the mod with the used inside bearing for the servo saver and that helps too. I'm not sure about the Mongoose brushless kit. I used to run only castle creations kits in mine, but I've been switching pretty much everything over to hobbywing and getting much longer lifespans.

You shouldn't need a BEC since pretty much all ESCs come with them built in.

Also, is it one of the new RC18 kits (belt drve)? If so, then my info my not be acuate a I have always had the older chassis versions.

Also, you should convert it to an 18R and come play with us in Tracy on our carpet track. We have some awesome 18R racing. If you want an offroad trck, the 18t is really strong, but th mini e-revo can handle a litle bit more rugged terrain(because of it's size advantave 1/16th vs. 1/18th)

thanks for the info i honestly dont know what version it is. buying it used.

i want to convert it into a "sc18" well sorta. i need something to play in the wet street come rainy season, while i work on the winter projects. converting a bunch of nitro's into electrics! a few tmaxx's and a savage.
