| 1/5 scale drift car build.
I guy I work with gave me 2 1/5 scale fast and furious tv cars. The green eclipse and the Orange supra. They don't run and both of them are missing one front wheel. Post pics later. I. Wanting to build a regular chassis for them and do a little drifting with them. The I'm debating on useing a ruslter based chassis or a 1/10 scale pan car chassis. Both will have to be extended to fit. The bodies measure 30 inches long. Any one have any sugestions on other chassis to look at. Also wondering about wheels and tires. The wheels that ate on them are 3" in diameter but look small for the body. Might check and see how my vxl pede Wheels will look on them with the pvc drift tires.

Its Later , with that kind of wheelbase, you may want to build a custom chassis and maybe use front/rear revo bulk heads/arms etc.

Well I'm not wanting to drop a lot of money into them. So just using parts I know I have. Only issue I know right now is drifting in 2wd. But maybe with the longer wheelbase will make it easier. |

drifting in 2wd is easy... heck put my slash on pavement with 3s and I can drift all day (cant hook up if I wanted to). A pan car layout would be the easies and cheapest way to go if you can fab. |

here are the pics size wise the length of them are 28"long 16.5" wheelbase and 10" wide the eclipse. me and my girlfreind already took this one apart they both came with 12v lead acid batteries the bodies are not too bad. decent detail but still not the best. windows are actually painted instead of being dark plastic. the decals are flacking a bit but not bad. all the lights work but are bulbs. will replace them with leds and add a few more. any other sugestions would be great. going to work on them this weekend to at least get the ideas worked out |

Damn that thing is huge, can't wait to see it running! If you can make your own control arms for the rear then you could just use some traxxas drive shafts to get an extended track width.

I actually did this same thing a couple years back for a buddy. I took a gs storm 1/8 scale buggy and extended the wheel base. the 1/8th scale wheels looked perfect on it. Ill see if I can dig up a picture. The project never got finished and I actually still have the chassis and a gs buggy roller if you're interested in it. -Mike |

which wing did you put on the rear. it fits the body really good. im searching for a set of buddy wheels and tires now. they do seem to fit the body perfect. which ones did u use the yellow in the pic almost matches the yellow on the body.

So I finnaly got around to building these things. So far I have the chassis about 60% built. Used an old distort for the tranny and front bulk. Slash arms. My lhs has some 1/8 scale premounted on road tires and slash buggy adaptors I am picking up Friday or saterday. I have the body mounted along with the tanny and front bulk. Going to go direct steering like a pede or pan car.hopefully I will have one drivable by this weekend. Pics tonight when i get off.
