Tamiya Stadium Thunder & CC01 unimog

I recently got back into R/C stuff and picked myself up a CC01 Unimog which I love. I don't love the motor/ESC however and am going to look to upgrade it to a LiPo setup, probably with a 55T motor and Novak ESC.

I picked up a vintage Stadium Thunder on Ebay and will begin the build this week. It's vintage enough that it has a mechanical speed control, which I'm thinking to swap out and use the setup from the CC01.

Anyone ever use the Tamiya 101 & stock 540 setup in a Stadium Blitzer/Thunder?

Anyone know any other hop-ups I should be looking at for the Stadium truck?
