Default Paleblues Dingo puller and pics of other pullers

double cut front tires this takes about 45 minutes per tire

This started as a stock Dingo kit , but my Mountaineer finally ate my last rear axle ring gear and pinion . Well with a pulling event coming up I needed a new 4wd Modified class truck , took some measurements and the Dingo fit the class rules , Bingo use the Dingo . I pulled the motor, speed control, hitch and weight bar and began the swap . Got it weighed up to just under our 10lb limit. The first pull with it I didn't have time to get the weight bar on and it finished 2nd in the class with the weights taped to the dingo bumper ....lol..not the best looking truck that day . Now it's together and Sat. is our next pull , hoping for first this time , guess I will find out how much abuse a Dingo can take .
We pull a 15lb sled and in this class we have around 20lbs in the box so it will be pulling around 30 -35 lbs
I'm not sure which body I'm using this time stock Dingo or my clod Ice Monster
tires are Tamiya Lunchbox on 2.2 rims , cut for good bite on the dirt track

HEy the Clod Ice Monster is the winner body, love that blower coming out the hood with them pipes.

What type of mods did you do to the drive train? how are your shocks set? thick oil stiff springs?

Do the rims hold up at the hex spot?

Thanks,

Yes the cheap rims have held up so far , I have done very little to the drive train I want to find out how tough the Axial parts are, if they hold up pulling 30-35 lbs I figure they will hold up doing anything else Ill ever do with them. the only thing I changed was the pinion and spur on the trans and motor other than that all stock. Saturday should be fun , with the weight out front that will change a lot from the last run, its going to put a lot more stress on the front axle, I have a up grade set with me so if I snap one I'm covered and a spare trans .

Nice build, and I agree the blower and pipes are a great touch. It reminds me of the 1:1 pullers I use to watch when I was a kid back in Indiana. Good luck next time out, I will be watching for an update. I'm curious to see just what the stock parts will take before letting go.

No pullers out here that I'm aware of

Ok guys heres whats in it motor is a Speed gem modified set at about 8 degrees , Novak super rooster speed control, changed pinion and spur to 32 pitch stock gearing in the trans and axles . Shocks are aluminum bodied ( not sure of brand) with stiff springs, collars turned down most of the way . there is between 3.5 and 4 lbs on the front weight bar, 10 oz. on the rear just to keep the rearend down . tires are Tamiya Lunch box ,custom cut , fronts have a pain in a** double cut rears single cut . thats about all I've done to it .

Thanks Post,

funny you should say that , I was just looking at my Prostock tractor which had a model train smoke system in the stack . I was going to look for that system and see it it would fit in the stacks on the clod body , still might try it but it wont be until after the pull this Saturday.

Wow, lots of weight on the bars...really, 4 pounds? Then you weight the rear as well. I suppose if I think this thru, the sled is heavy...
Seems that you need to beef up the gears more than normal

Hey Chris,

Everything is getting back to normal in lower Manhattan. The tall buildings nearest the water are still not operable. My sister's job location was hit as well as the neighboring buildings. She will not be able to return to work until after December or January. The water that flooded the lobby hit the basement where generators and fuel was supposedly stored. The water is now toxic so pumping it out is no longer an option. It has to be specially removed. A lot of phone systems are still down in that area. My cell service has been really bad since then.

On a pulling note...Post mentioned the amount of weight added to the rig...i can't believe your gears are holding up in stock form.

GO AXIAL!!!

Ok guys finished second , no one made 30ft today the track was a little wet and had more traction then we were used to but I still went 22.85 ft so it was a good day , the winner was a little over 6ft in front of me , that truck always runs good though.
Nothing broken and wheels ,trans ,axles all seem good.
I checked the weight on the front end its just about 5lbs . stock dingo right about 4 with out battery and stock tires , so with my pulling tires battery (7cell mimh) and the added weights the finished ready to pull truck is at 9.86 lbs , thats with the Chevy hard body to
