I am starting a build thread a bit early on this one as I havnt received the body yet.... Last Month I was extremely lucky to win a custom body in Dreadys giveaway thread ***Christmas Giveaway Win a Custom Scale Body*** Neil is really close to finishing the body and shipping it accross the pond soon. Thanks again Neil I have a multi stage plan for this body. In this instance it will be going on a SRB (sand scorcher) chassis with all the scale touches I can dream up. Full interior, tube work, drivers, etc. One of the challanges will be to make it so it can cross over to the crawler chassis for C1 also... That is the second part of the plan, and will be updated in my other thread. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/2-2-s...221-thing.html The inspiration So to start with , here are some pics of Dreadys work Last edited by hotwheels000; 10-23-2013 at 08:52 AM. |

More... We deviated a bit from the original idea so that it would fit the C1 look better. I really wanted it to have the feel of a street rig for that class and not some "rules" compliant rig. It also will help hide the rear mounted motor in the SRB chassis. A rear deck was added along with some fenders. When I saw the pics I was pleasantly surprised that Neil had also done the dash up for me Well, thats it for now, untill I receive the body to begin the rest of the journey. I hope I do Neil and this fantastic body justice. |

LOL my thoughts exactly, plus I will be able to use it without fear of the OG being destroyed.

The body arrived on Monday... oh happy day :awsome: First on my plate was to get the body mounted. I had to create a point in the rear of the body to mount to. I used a piece of styrene that had a texture to it to cover the rear boot. I also needed a floor pan,you can see in this pic if you look close I had to remove the stock rollbar/shock mounting point and create a new shock bracket that sat lower to hide under the rear deck lid Painted the front buckets and rear bench. The rear bench is made from Styrofoam. Then door panels. I used the same material as the rear boot. Finally able to mount the body in mock up form. I also used the rogue elemets wheels I had been saving for the scorcher. Mounted them to a set of rc4wd 1.5 thrashers |

Progress is looking good. Door panels look sweet (gotta have the ashtray!) Any ideas on color scheme? |

I used a rc4wd JK rampage bumper for mock up ,thanks Bmuzzy for letting me borrow it to check fit. The stinger sticks up just enough to protect the hood and the corners come out far enough to protect the fenders, it is almost like it was made for it. I really like how the Volkswagonish front beam is visable, that is one of the reasons I choose to use a SRB chassis Random shot Last edited by hotwheels000; 11-08-2013 at 09:07 AM. |

Finished up the bikini top and decided to take it out to one of our team trail runs.... Unfortunatly, I didn't pre-check all operations before hand. The servo arm was hitting the interior so I wasn't able to run it at the GTG. Fixed it right up when I got home and enjoyed it for a battery pack. Pretty cool watching it cruise the landscaping in the front yard. Again, I must say Dready did a bang up job on this body and I am proud to be the owner of it Here are a few pics from the GTG. I am officially done building this one. |
