Yeah.....the best part is that, even if you're going 10mph.....it seems really fast. 30mph seem like light speed!

Just curious, but just how tipy is the stampede?

I was actually thinking about picking up a new rustler and throwing mashers on it just to have something that maybe handled a little better.

Mine handles as well as the rustler.
I lowered the suspension a tad, lowered the body and got aluminum, wide Stampede a-arms.

I've got an old pede chassis sitting downstairs collecting dust. Looks like I have a new project. Needs tranny, shocks, and some other odds and ends. Time to save up money for BL, too!!

Looks nice Frankyjizzo. I love the body.

They are very stable. I was contemplating running slightly longer shocks then just setting more sag for jumping.

I think that thing looks sweet, I like the wheels and rings too. That body fits really good, I like the dumped rear end.

My 4 month old daughter digs it as well. She was using my controller as a teething ring.

They handle well, are stable and jump incredibly nice. I would recommend the aluminum wide arm conversion that Fast Lane makes though. It makes it that much better for the track and you get a little more adjustability. Lighter too! Only widen the front though, or you have to find some very expensive, and longer cvd's for the rear. You really only need the front wider for impressive handling.

No.
I'd say more like 900 or 1,200 mph. I 'll listen for the boom.

Running the 5800 with a 23 tooth pinion will get hot very quickly. I would start with a 15 tooth pinion and the stock spur. If you want the stock idler gear in transmission to last longer than one pack, don't try any hard launches, and don't land with the throttle on. Or, you can upgrade to the aluminum idler gear (Traxxas part # 1996X).

Anyone jumping in on the pede thing should check this out:

Addicted2rc.com
http://www.addicted2rc.com/stampede.html

These guys sell Fast Lane Stampede products and are selling everything for 10% off with a $75 purchase or more, during the month of Nov. They are also giving free shipping. Not bad.
