Default another guy asking for short truck advise

i guess we are going into short course trucks next...so what do i get?
i want durability first, performance second and cost lastly. we will be outside ohio dirt track used to crawling so not much experience going fast so controllability is important would rather spend money once for durability and controllability. any advice and or input would be great. or leads on a good deal on the perfect rig. prefer used and upgraded as thats usually the best deal.

thanks
james

Durability, performance, value? Sounds like a Slash 4x4 is right up your alley. They're tough as nails, parts are easy to come by and they're easy to work on. The 4x4's are much easier to drive than the 2wd's (especially for someone that is new to the go fast part of the hobby) and the newer models even come with Traxxas Stability Management that makes them easier to handle in low traction situations.

First question that needs to be asked is what are you going to be doing racing or bashing. If you will be bashing are just messing around then yes the Traxxas Slash 4x4 is the way to go. Just about any LHS has parts to fix any repairs and hop-up parts also. The slash is a very durable SCtruck. If you play on competitive racing they you will want to invest in a Associated, Losi or if you have the cash Tekno. Hope this helps a little. I have a 2 shashes 2WD and 4WD and they are both a blast to drive.

I picked up a vaterra raptor this past winter and love it. We run backyard snow tracks so things get beat up but the only thing I broke was a body mount.
