What are the "must-have" upgrades while building this rig? I have bearings, aluminum motor plate, and aluminum driveshaft on my list so far.

I'm finally getting ready to paint the body for mine (even though it has been built for nearly a year)! I do have a question though, has anybody come out with high clearance bumpers for these rigs?

I have one of these: for Tamiya MF01X #STR358BL, ,(STR358BL) by Active Hobby Aluminum Front Tube Bumper Set Black But i haven't mounted it yet. Not sure if it's quite "high clearance" though. |

I was kinda hoping for something 3d printed that has more "ramp" to it for a skid plate.

mine kept spitting out the dogbones as well, the CVD's seem to have fixed that problem.

Hi guys. I am waiting for my Tamiya MF-01X. I bought the kit with blue body pre-painted, esc and combo but with the Yeahracing suspension kit. I also buyed tamiya mini cva shocks, ballbearing kit. But tires and wheels i am searching the best choice. I almost buy 1.55 wheels with 94mm tires. What do you recomend? Marcelo |

Any of the 1.55 wheels should work, might look at the smaller tires though. The ones I have on mine rub a lot. In the little I've used it.

Recently finished my Beetle kit. Threw an ebay Brushless kit in it (was purchased for my Monster Beetle, but it has no business having that much power I decided). Now will need bearings and shocks. I just need basic plastic CVA shocks, not the expensive aluminum kit. I ordered 2 Tamiya 50746 CVA kits. I hope that these are the right ones. The box is pushing the Tamiya "54000 M-Chassis" aluminum shock kit, but that is too spendy for this build. What Tamiya CVA plastic shocks are you guys running? https://www.tamiyausa.com/product/it...oduct-id=50746 ![]() ![]() Last edited by NFA Fabrication; 07-21-2018 at 12:25 AM. |

Very nice! I use Tamiya super mini plastic CVA's on all my mini's - they work great and are reasonably priced.

Yessir, that's it. Only 2 shocks per package, make sure you order 2. Stock springs from the kit will slip right on if what comes with them is too stiff or too soft. .

| ![]() Thanks man! I did order 2 sets. I just wish I could find 1.9 Beetle wheels. I think the M Chassis ones are 1.55.
