|  Redcat Blackout a good starter for kid?
Just curious if anyone has any feedback on the redcat blackout? I have a yeti and my 9 year old is quite interested in the hobby. His birthday is around the corner and I'm looking for a 4x4 1/10th truck. Just wondering if this would be a good starter truck for him and are they somewhat durable? Any information on them would be appreciated.

My 7 yo has a Trooper from hobbyking. Dialled it down a bit and only run it on 2s. Pretty tough and reliable & decent spare support. IMO spares availability is a must with whatever you choose

That's really my only concern. Any non universal parts I would have to order. I will check out the trooper

The Blackout is very fast, a heavy hand will produce breakage. Most if not all Redcat parts are available online and eBay.

I ended up ordering the blackout xte brushless. Excited for the little guy to get it. Looks like it rips in the vids i watched. Going have to step up the yeti's game to keep up!
