| Fastest brushless motor?
Well I am pretty new to brushless setups and had a couple of questions reguarding them. I am putting together a project and wondering what is the fastest brushless motor setup out there? I don't know what a lot of this means but I was thinking something along these lines. a Hacker B50 11XL brushless "Navy" motor and Hacker Master 77 - 3P OPTO "Navy" high-performance brushless-sensorless electronic speed controller designed for marine use. The Hacker B50 Series brushless motors have incredible power - long run times define the performance of these motors. This B50 11XL motor features Super Duty Case and 5mm shaft. This motor is a precision instrument and should be used only with the INCLUDED, BRAND NEW Hacker Master 77 - 3P OPTO "Navy" high-performance brushless-sensorless electronic speed controller. Better buy some good expensive batteries to handle that high discharge rate |

It really depends on what voltage you plan to run it at. For instance, I ran a 9 cell IB3800 pack in an Associated B4 buggy at 52.2mph (gps verified) with a Mamba Max 5700 brushless combo. As long as you'll only be running normal sized truck/buggy paddles on the rear, a Mamba Max combo is about the cheapest out there ($185 shipped for ESC and Motor...PM me if you need to find out where to buy it for that price). If you want ridiculous speed with it, a Mamba Max 4600 combo on a 4S Lipo or 12NiMh cells would get you there. There are a ton of options out there and I highly suggest checking out the brushless forum over at rc-monster.com The guys over there are extremely knowledgable and more than willing to help. |

Novak 3.5R brushless combo, rated at 10,500 RPM per volt. Will handle 6 cells which would be 7.2 x 10500 = 75,600 RPM and to be conservitave say a 6 cell pack peaks at 8 volts that would be 84,000 RPM I think that would be the way to go. It even has a fan.

You don't need all that torque if it s goint to play in only sand, Plus it would make some killer rooster tails.

I never said it would be faster. If I were to replace the SS5800 in my sandrail, I would put the 3.5R. Just because it would look sweet at full throttle. But I don't have any sand around here

Easiest and cheapest route is the Castle Mamba Max combo. Determine the cell count you want to run, and choose your motor from there. I would highly recommend the 5400kv system. It will make your rail scoot. Stay away from boat setups. They are made for boats and not cars. There is a reason for car specific controllers, otherwise they would be called car/boat controllers and not boat controllers. |

Well you guys are throwing out all these things I have no idea what you are talking about. kv? I want to run a lipo pack. I am really not worried about the weight issue. I was to throw some mad roosters with some high speeds.. I want a pretty decent run time. I will have to re-read your post so I understand a little better.

Well I guess I should put out what it is going in. It is a Colquitt Customs 21" Sand rail frame with an Aluminum Stampede Trans with RC-Monster Steel Diff Gear, Traxxas AL Idler, Traxxas Delrin Top Gear, I am going to be running extended Stampede arms, with 2.2 sand tires front and rear. I want this thing Wicked insane fast like nobodys business and throw 10ft rooster tails.
