what the best turn for a sand rail iam running a tlt trans with a hobao fiberglass reinforced drive belt for nitro car and a belt tesioner if i hook my drill up to my output shaft and jam the spurr it breaks the epoxy in the center diff b4 the powr reaches the belt so the trans is bullet proof. so i need to know what turn it better i amgoing to run a moped pro esc 5T limit i want my car to go fast a fark but whats beter a 9T or a 10-19T motor thanks sorry for the waffeling:-P

you also need to let people know the # of cells you intend on running....a 9 turn motor on 6 cells could be slower then a 12 turn on 7 or 8 cells

Do like the rest of us with sandrails and go BRUSHLESS!!! I don't like using brushed motors in applications where I want lots of speed, because I have melted a few in the past, and thats when I wasn't trying to get lots of power out of them. Now I use brushless and if it gets too hot, some have thermal protection that shuts the system down.

Here is a vid of mine with the SS5800

Same motor as \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/

2nd that! plus, since I run my sand rail only on the beac (go figure right?) I like having the enclosed motor. Its nice because you dont have to worry about sucking the sand into the bearings or comm or brushes. I am running a novak ss 5800 in my rail but I actually want to go faster.. this summer I am hitting up holmes hobbies for somehting that can handle 12 cells Check out this video if mine, thats on 6 cells...not to bad but needs to go faster

You need to make sure the chassis can handle that kind of power. From what I've heard 1BJB's chassis is one the the nicest ones out there. I heard the new design will be for sale in May??????

I would use something other than a TLT tranny. Belts slip, they stretch, etc...

Just say no to belts.
