Any thoughts on the scaled down clone: FEIYUE - 03 1 : 12 2.4G Full Scale 4WD Dessert RC Off-road Racing Car-62.99 and Free Shipping | GearBest.com Mobile There's parts readily available and fairly cheap. |

The link offers almost zero information at all and being that "you typically get what you pay for" how good could it be? For me it's just a little hard to feel real positive about this product offering without more information. I will say 1/12 scale is interesting especially in areas were the terrain or space isn't nessisarily accommodating.

| Re: Twin Hammers clone http://m.banggood.com/buy/Feiyue-FY03.html You do get what you pay for and the first site makes up for the low price with shipping charges. There's a few goober videos on YouTube as well. |

I looked for a few more days and came across a 'flash sale' where I ordered one with an EU charger for $64 shipped. It should be here in 2-3 weeks and I'll tear it down for inspection. Then I'll put it through the ringer and see how it holds up. I did find that it has open diffs(one review stated the diffs weren't fully open but similar to an LSD), 12mm hex beadlock wheels, and the ESC has a lipo cutoff. The motor can be replaced from my LHS, but it has a Losi Mini style ESC/Rx combo with a 5 wire servo. |

It came in today. I was surprised at the quality for the price. The wheels are true bead locks and 1.55. The tires are a cheap tire and the foams are rocks. It has aluminum 12mm hexes and my old Honcho wheels/tires fit nicely. The additional sidewall and softness made it handle a lot better in the rough. High speed turns will roll the sidewalls. It came with this. It has a 5 wire servo and Rx/ESC combo. Both diffs are open. I split the rear to have a look and its floated on bearings. It has all metal gears, too. The axle housing seemed flimsy compared to the ar60 axles I have on my scx10. It's called a rock racer, but anything but head on or with a little speed and it'll spin the one tire. |

Before I get flamed and hammered with the 'cheap Chinese' bit and the 'you get what you paid for'...I know. I paid $64 total to my doorstep by USPS today. I'm just posting this to see if anyone cares or doesn't care. I thought it'd be worth a shot at the price. I caught it on sale and I wouldn't pay any more than I did again. I do intend to beat this thing to death by the time spring gets here...probably before the year is out. It does have bearings everywhere you'd want them and a lot of metal parts. Mainly cast and/or machined aluminum, but metal. It feels solid and it feels to be of better quality than I expected.

Wow, for that price, who cares how long it lasts. Probably just as long as all the other plastic "brand" r/c's made in the same foreign countries. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with it.

The springs are NOT 14mm like my Axials. They are a lot stiffer, but I have a set of HotRacing 14mm springs somewhere. The HR kit that uses varying wire size to make up spring rates. These may finally get used if I can find them. EDIT: I found my HR springs and then removed the clone's rear shocks since they're easiest to remove. The Axial springs are 14mm ID and these clone springs are 14mm OD. A slight error of memory on my part. So the Axial springs do not work. The shocks are 90mm eye to eye extended and 60mm compressed. But the eyes aren't big enough for an m3 bolt to pass. So again, that rules out putting in my old Honcho shocks for cheap/free. Last edited by Brake Weight; 09-26-2015 at 03:55 PM. |

Threw on some 2.2 RPM Revolvers with the full offset in some Yokohama Geolanders. Looks cool and handles a lot better. I haven't gotten a chance to set up some jumps and bash on it like I have wanted yet. |

I pulled the stock electronics out and put in some of my old Axial stuff. I had to get a new servo to run it, though. Got a matching spare tire & wheel, too. |

I've got a brushless motor and esc from good ol' Dollarhobbyz on the cheap. $50 for a Losi Mini8 buggy 4500kv setup. It may be a bit underpowered as it's my first dealings with BL.

Could you tell me how wide it is outside of tire to outside of tire with stock wheels?

Hey man thanks for that, gives me an idea of the size for the most part. I just ask about the stock wheels since you have the wideners and all on the front it was hard to get a good idea on track.

Where did you end up getting yours from? every place I find either wants $80 to ship or wants $125 for it with free ship. Also whenever you get home could I get the wheelbase measurement also? I have a smaller scale body I'm hopeful this will work for.
