Hey gang. FOund another sweet spot in Asheville. It's on Sardis Rd, to the right of Frank's Pizza. Alot of commercial property being built out there, and the land is being moved about. Anyway, not so sure of the rock situation other than what can be seen from the road, but alot of dirt and red clay(?). Huge hills. Definitely a good place for a trials course. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...h&z=18&iwloc=B Hope this link to ggogle maps works. the pic is an old one and doesn't show the way it looks right now. would definitely be the place to go muddin after a rain. |

I live just down the road from there i actually did some floor work for the pizza place. I have got a little coarse set up at the house that i have been changing around as i go. irishgunslinger1 has been over and helped me out a bunch as far as setting my Gmade R1 up. PM me and maybe can crawl/bash a little on the coarse i built. also ask irishgunslinger1 what he thinks about it. I am new enough to where any suggestions are required!! Thanks monty |

Thanks Seon. I'd love to come over and check it out. Is it friendly enough for scalers? I only have an SCX-10 built as a Jeep Rubicon. It runs great, but its no R1! Speaking of, I'd love to see that R1 up close. It looks impressive on video.

Been busy this week. Heading down to McGalliard Falls in Valdese on Saturday. That place is awesome. Going to start planning a scaler comp/fun-run there. I need others to come with sometime and provide input/manpower to help with course design etc. Its a fun place. Seon, I'd like to stop by sometime soon. I may have a little bit of time this Sunday afternoon. Otherwise, maybe monday?

Hey Seon. I've been away for awhile but I'm back and looking at your pics are making me drool. I've got a scx10 scaler that's needing to run (been sitting for the last 3 months). I work in Biltmore Park on Long Shoals Rd, so I could come over after work some afternoon and crawl for a bit if you like. Let me know. PM to exchange numbers. |

Nice track monty! I like the bridge. I found a cool spot on airport rd. There's a new fastop gas station next to moes/gamestop and they have some rocks right next to the parking lot. It is on a slope and would be fun for scalars and comp rigs, plus the rocks are new (no grass or spider webs yet.) We should plan a get together sometime soon. I've been wanting to get the yj out. I found a pretty fun little place this weekend. Its on Pinners Cove. Its an old power company road. Its a hill climp we used to take our trucks up in high school. No trucks have been up it in a few years it looks like so its all washed out and rutted. Its full of rocks and some challenging spots. Its by far nothing huge and really hard but its just something fun to go play on. I took my scaler up there twice and its just pretty fun to play around on.
