Raven Rock Park 6/8

Ladies and Gents,

The Raleigh folks are going to get together for a trail ride at Raven Rock state park in NC (an hour south of Raleigh) on 6/8.

The plan would be to start around 10:00am and drive until lunch and then find somewhere and eat. I usually pack my trail bag with lunch so I'd recommend the same.

It will be a leisurely trail drive with scale type rigs (or comp crawlers if you want). I'll bring a Wraith or two, but all vehicles are welcome if you can drive them on a trail. We'll stop and drive on some rocks if we find any good spots along the way.

Park rules state that motorized vehicles aren't allowed, but I'm thinking they mean gas motorcycles and ATV's so we should be set. I've driven at several parks in Raleigh and as long as we don't cause any problems it should be fine. I don't plan to get a shelter or anything. If this one goes well, we'll get a shelter next time and have a "base camp".

I went last weekend and asked them they don't have any problems with rc. I may try to make it again. But its about a 2hr drive for me.

That's great news about them being friendly to the cause. As long as we tread lightly and respect the place I'm sure we'll be allowed back.

Raven Rock was awesome! I think it should be used a few times a season. Total loop was 6 miles. I had a 6500mah pack in my truck and it made the whole drive.

I used to live about 15 miles from there about 4-5 years ago and crawled there a lot.i asked them then and they had np with it as long as electric.no gas vehicles and stayed on the rocks and not trails.there are some nice places to play.and wuzup hvy-dty-1 give me a holler.pm me or email.u know addy.

There are a few groups on Facebook now where we publish bi-weekly get togethers. So far we've done Raven Rock and Lake Johnson park. Some guys went to Umstead after and had fun there, but it's too wet for me.
