Well, I had to order some MIPs for my SCX10, kept popping my modded Maxx Shafts off the tranny outputs. LOL Well, off to the next weak point in the driveline. :)

Re: Northwest area

That sucks, about the battery. I'm having some issues with mine, the 1st cell in the pack keeps dropping WAY below the other one. I'm changing from a brushless VXL setup to a Rooster Crawler/Brushed if my motor arrives in time. I'm hoping that I can save the pack and the problems go away. So I've had most of my truck apart over the past few days checking everything, too.

Edit: Well, found out that my pack has a bad cell in it. Basically a loaded gun with a hair trigger and the safety off. So my darling wife let me get a new DX3C and a new lipo pack. Awesome she is, love her to pieces! She used Father's Day as a reason, LOL

What kind of terrain is at the park? Will I need to water proof?

I honestly don't remember 100%, it's been 3 years since I've been there. I'd say if we get a decent amount of rain, it might not be a horrible idea, but probably not needed. I'm not gonna force anyone do troop through mud, lol.

Depending on how everyone feels, we might want to try heading across the way to the south. There is a bike path/walkway that might have some stuff to drive on.

Here is a sat map of the area...

Re: Northwest area

I think most of it is just dirt trails, maybe fallen trees and stuff.

turbomini 06-22-2012 01:19 AM

Re: Northwest area

a traxxas i dont remember numbers off hand but its only 80oz servo lol it works but doesnt turn well unless moving :(

Devil Inc 06-22-2012 01:35 AM

Re: Northwest area

Yeah, that's probably not really liking the big 2.2 tires. I'd suggest something with approx. 200+ oz/in.

There's this, it's pretty budget-friendly:

Solar Servo D772 High Voltage 0.17sec@7.4v 64g Digital Metal Gear

turbomini 06-22-2012 01:51 AM

Re: Northwest area

i am looking/wanting to buy used right now i dont have cash for the new prices! but if anyone has one they would sell i can bring some extra with me hehe

turbomini 06-22-2012 01:59 AM

Re: Northwest area

just noticed you link i didnt know they were so cheap. the last oone's i looked up were about 100 bucks which i cant afford!

Devil Inc 06-22-2012 11:37 AM

Re: Northwest area

Yeah, probably not the greatest servo ever, but for the price I don't think it would be a bad one to try.

Re: Northwest area

is there anybody around the defiance area thats up for some crawlin and scalin

Devil Inc 06-24-2012 10:42 PM

Re: Northwest area

turbomini, no biggie on the batts, you came prepared with a 12v capable charger. Would you be up for driving up to Van Buren? It's pretty much 30 east to 75 north.

jeepcrawler, I'm not close to you, would you be willing to drive? You're about an hour from Van Buren, I think we're gonna try to get something together soon.

Overall, not sure when we're gonna get it setup. Headshok88 is going to try getting ahold of some others and see what we can come up with.

In other news, COC Battlegrounds is next weekend, so I'm gonna try making it down there.

Re: Northwest area

Re: Northwest area

Here's one that is super budget friendly. You've got some time to get it ordered, sooner the better.

60G EXI Digital Coreless Servo-D226F w/ Metal Gear

Re: Northwest area

I think there will be some good spots around Van Buren state park. We only checked out a small portion of the park. I am going to go back over there this week and scope out some more areas. I might even clear out some more trails. Lets start throwing out some dates and see what sticks. I am good for most sundays.

How does July 8 look for everyone?
