Calling all Islanders - Offroad Poker Run in Nanaimo?

Anyone interested in a Poker Run style event for the Mid Island.
Would need help in staging and laying out the course.

Prizes for best hand, best of show, other suggestions?

There are enough Scalers and Crawlers in the area to do this just
need a few people to get organized.

Slating it for end of August, September Labour Day weekend 2012?

Going to "The Abyss" this Saturday July 14th to check out possible courses and do a run.
There will be 3 or 4 of us heading out if you want to meet as well.

We definitely have the terrain and the area's to do this.

Who would be interested?

Will contact local shops to see if they would promote it also.

Neck Point, Pipers Lagoon the whole spit area around the Oak Tree Trail,
Dumont Road area?

We definitely have the terrain and the area's to do this.

Excellent, I have been getting a lot of response through an ad I placed on Used Nanaimo as well.

We are going out on weekends and evenings scouting out possible areas and courses.

The Abyss in Nananaimo looks excellent. Hills, Bluff areas, trails and
faster areas for a possible Wraith run as well.

I made up a poster which I will plan to get places in Hobby shops and RC shops
once location is firm.

This area covers 6.1 k of trails and plenty of parking and staging at the power lines. There is one more place we will check out this coming weekend.

Good excuse to get out as well.

I will be in parksville this weekend and plan on checking out the abyss on Sunday with a buddy from nanaimo. If you are around and want to join us that would be awesome. We would definently be up for helping plan a course.

Im up in Courtenay but come down to nanaimo quite a bit. I would be down for scouting out new spots, have a scaler and a comp rig. Keep me in the loop on whats happening
