Default My first beater paint job for my WK

HI: This is my first beater paint job what do you think?

I sprayed it on the inside with primer color:

Then I painted it on the outside with white then black then the final color
green:

This is what it looks like. I just finished it a few min ago. I may tint the windows. My Daughter made the license plate

that looks good but what type of paint did you use ? it may flake off if its not lexan paint.

Did not use lexan paint cant get it around here and to order it cost to much. I sanded the body and the paint stuck really well. And ya it might flake some but if it does it will only look better Plus the paint seems to flex really good. If it flakes too bad I will just spray it a different color and rough it up again.

I used Krylon plastic paint.

Decent weathered effect to the body. And I would say shot number 2 definitely got the driver in the back of the neck. No more rock crawling for him. Let alone walking.

Ya we had to bury the driver out on the trail but we never liked him anyway. I now control the beast so I hope I wont be shot at

That looks great, let your daughter know I loved the license plate!

No, honestly.. I think the non-typed plate fits the beater theme pretty nicely.

Just curious how this paint job is standing up. I just painted a lexan body with Krylon Fusion paint for plastic. All I had to do was push on the body and the paint would crack and flake off in BIG patches. I ended up stripping it again (major PITA) and repainting with lexan paint

I know its been a while since I posted here but this is an update on my body.

Then paint is still like it was when I painted it. It did not flake off or anything I am surprised how well it is staying. I have put a lot of hours on it too and its looks better now with more scratches etc...
