| Body prep tips?
I've heard of scuffing up the body befor painting but what's some of the things used to do so. I have some green 3M scotchbrite pads but don't want to use something that will scratch the body to much to where it shows up in the paint. Just looking for some tips, thanks.

I usually just wash it with soap and water, then paint. I've never had a issue with paint chiping, not even on my jump trucks. Of course use lexan only paint.

No need to scuff it up. As long as your using lexan paint, just washing it with soap and water, and letting it air dry is enough.. Ive never scuffed any lexan body Ive painted and Ive never had any problems..

| What kind? I have never scuffed a body, and the only body I have had a chipping/sticking issue with was my drifter, and it having little pebbles thrown up on the inside at about a hundred miles an hour. But actually, I think that paint didn't work because I rushed the coats moreso than not scuffing the body. |

I just painted my body using other non lexan paint. I scuffed the inside with black sandpaper the kind made to be used wet. I think I used 400 grit its not very rough. I sanded all of the inside until it was nice and hazy. When I put the inside coat on and peeled the protective coating off the outside it was nice and shiny could not see even one scratch. And the paint stuck really well.

I think the type of paint used is key. In the past I tried Tamiya Model paint, horrible.... Pactra RC Spray seems to work well though, if you don't have an airbrush. I lightly scuff with steel wool, copper mesh, scotchbrite pad, or whatever, wash the body afterward with dishwashing soap.
