Default Decko-podge as paint mask?

I went into my LHS today looking for liquid paint mask. They were out. The guy there told me that I could use Deco-podge and said it works the same way and you can get a bigger quanity for cheaper, so I picked up a 16 oz. container for $8. Has anyone used this stuff before as liquid paint mask? It smells the same but doesnt have the blue-ish tint regular liquid mask has. I applied it to a scrap piece and am waiting for it to dry but figured Id ask here anyway.

Well I applied 4 coats like I would regular liquid mask and let it dry for a good 20-30 minutes. I just went up there to check it out and see how it peeled off and it was nearly impossible to get off the lexan. It stuck wayyyy to good to the lexan and I ended up just throwing the scrap piece away.. I wouldnt suggest trying it on a body. I just wasted $8 but ya live and ya learn..lol..

Deco-pauge is liquid glass. Deffinately not the same as liquid mask.

He must be on crack or confusing it for something else.

I was wondering how tough it would be to remove. Too bad it didn't work, but good heads-up for anyone else thinking about trying it.
