Default 08 Comp rules - 2.2 body specs

I'm looking through the comp rules and I noticed this:

Quote:
Body must be 3" minimum height on the sides. No less than 12.5" total length and full original width, and no less than 5" in the center.
I just want a little clarification on some stuff.

3" on the sides means the overall height from the roof of the cab down to the rockers. It's not just the rocker to the bottom of the windows (quarterpanels/fenders), right?

Full original width ... I'm assuming this is to stop people from cutting the whole thing in half and removing a center section. So I can still bob my bed and front clip, right?

I assume the 5" in the center means the width at the center looking down from above.

While on subject. For bodies that come with rockers wider than the main body, is it okay to cut them off flush to body width without that being considered narrowed?

Thanks

Interesting question. I don't see why not. Although....if you stick exactly to the rules.....then no...you can not

Yes, you can do that. The idea is that you can't take a section out of the middle of the roof and make the cab narrower.

I commend the Rules Commitee on the '08 2.2" body rule. This criteria will be much easier to judge and enforce than the old 70% rule. A few quick measurements with a tape will determine whether or not a body is legal.

Good job!

My idea of using calipers and scales accurate to the 1000th decimal place was shot down.
