| Masking roof on Bushwacker body
I want to try and achieve an authentic Toyota Land Cruiser look on my Bushwacker body. To do this, I need to make the roof white. I'm having a heck of a time masking it off with tape. I've searched around the forum and am getting the idea that I need to use liquid mask. What are you using to cut into the mask to make your lines. Surely and Xacto knife would cut into the lexan. I want to try and get as clean of a line as possible. Difficulty: I have 0 artistic talent. None. I see that a lot of you with this body are coloring the window molding and hood lines black. I tried replicating this with a permanent marker but it's not black enough. Are you guys using paint pens? My inspiration (minus the wheels): |

Yes an exacto knife, be gentle and patient, it leaves a mark but the paint fills it in and you never see it. As seen the after affect here |

Contact FTR and have him paint it for you... Well worth the coin. He does excellent work for a reasonable price and you won't ruin your body. Here's on he did for me... |

Wow, those are both great looking bodies! JB, I see you outlined your truck bed and front headlight housing in black. Is that with a paint pen or just a permanent marker? And the hardware on the hood doesn't look like stickers. Did you use a silver paint pen on those? |

On the FTR body, it looks like the top sits right on the glass, he should have left some room for color, It makes the windshield frame look funny!

On 4u2nv's body i used 2" masking tape for the line. It takes a while but it gives you a really straight line. | |

Oh my freakin' Gawd! Here I am, just under the $700 dollar mark, trying to convert my WK into a capable crawler that looks like a red FJ 40 like in the picture above. I wanted to paint the window molding black to give it that scale look. I even bought a large black HPI front bumper that I've been trying to figure out how to mount. And then, today, I see this: http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=58405 And it'll retail for ~$350 /cry |

If you just seen that today you must have been under a rock... People have been talking about it on here for quite some time. It even has its own section already.
