| Browncoat's XC-1
I really like the XC-1 body. The Losi Grappler is nice, but it's a stadium truck body, and a lot of people use it. I wanted something different. The XC-1 looks like a rock crawler body in my opinion. It completes the package. It says, "this is a purpose built rock crawler, not just a truck with big tires". I was able to mount this body lower than my old Grappler. I was worried about the fenders rubbing at first, but since it's dovetailed, it doesn't...even at full articulation. First, I painted the fenders and rollcage Fasblack. Next, I laid down several coats of silver with the airbrush, then when it was dry, I backed the whole thing with some $.99 silver paint from Wal-Mart. I need to apply some more stickers, but other than that, it's a done deal. |

the rig looks defininatly looks sweet!. couple of questions though... do u think the standard c cell 7.2v battery packs will fit on the stock battery tray w/ the body sitting that low? and can post pics of the axals at full articulation ? and again, nice rig!

Yeah, I'd say a standard stick pack would fit in the stock location. I probably have mine mounted only 1/4" lower than pics I've seen of the XC-1 on Axial's site. As for articulation pics...I'll take some tomorrow. It's almost 10pm here, and pics look so much better w/ natural lighting. |

I like the options when you're trimming out the body. There are 2 different lines you have a choice of following.

I've been thinking about getting one of these, but had only seen the pre-painted versions. Now that I see one with normal paint & mounted I'm picking one up ASAP.

I like everything about that body except for the large A pillars and T-tops. I really like the fitment though, The whole truck is protected. Doesn't look short and empty like the proline shells. Looks like it was designed for performance. Swept back windshield to avoid off camber hang ups. Centered roof for a rocking horse effect once it rolls. T-tops point the center of the roof so it aways rolls back. Thats a great paint job |

Thanks for the complements! Quote:
I do have some complaints about the body...It was a little difficult to trim due to all the sharp curves. The fenders were especially tricky. I have curved and straight lexan scissors, but had to use a Dremel to sand down the curves on the fenders. The window masks aren't the greatest either.

Nice paint work and detail! I wasn't too sure about those bodies when we got them in stock, but now that I see one all painted up, it looks cool!

Yeah, I cut them off. They looked dorky to me, and were just something to get hung up on the rocks. I agree about the masks. Definitely crap.
