Default ?Hinging a Hood?

I've got a Bruiser project I'm trying to get plans together for and I want a hood that flips up. I've seen a few but with no great detail on how to. I want to make something sturdy that won't flop open at every little bump. Thanks in advance.

I used nylon airplain hinges that are light, and don't require alot of thought to use. I then used magnets to hold the hood to the body, They are also easy to use!;) Hope this helps
