| Custom Painted Axial Scorpion
Hi guys, I'm new here but been reading your posts for the last few weeks and got inspired to paint a crawler style body. All the images, Scorpion and wood truck bed are painted by hand with a brush, the rest is sprayed with an airbrush. I tried to make it look weathered, wood bed turned out nice, looks old and beatup. Highlited the green around the Scorpion so your eye would focus on it. |

Wow that is spectacular the scorpion seems to float and the wood bed is realistic that's some really nice work.

First off, welcome to the best forum I have had the pleasure being a part of. Second, I think if you apply yourself a little more next time, you could improve...:-P But really, what a great paint job. The shadowing is awesome, as is the wood work. Keep up the great work, and post those pics. I also like the detail of your pictures, great tight shots. |

the wood is awesome. scorpion.... eh, good paint, I just don't like the looks of it. Too bad you will lose 1/2 the wood grain and the chrome front end when you hack it up to fit a crawler. |

That thing's too nice to put any holes in. If I had that body, I'd use it for show only and just use velcro to mount it. Too nice to get all scratched up and i bet you put a lot of time into it.

Thanks for the compliments, Actually, I just paint them, my son ruins them! LOL!! I'm looking into being a vender here as I'd like to sell some! I'm not sure if I can post my websight so you could checkout what I do. Alot of the bodies I paint end up as show bodies. Often they'll bend the posts toward the front and rear so the mounts go thru the bumpers. thanks again Caci |

Hi guys, Yes the truck bed is painted by hand with a brush. I've been asked to do a tutorial for CFX paintworks on painting the wood truck bed. The next one I paint I'll take pics for each step and post the tutorial here as well. regards caci |

Hi HeadHunter, I'll be posting a tutorial on painting the wood truck bed in the next week or so. Also I'll post an interesting painting technique on your link above. it's a fool proof technique that anybody can do. When I first started painting I called it "HellFire"! I havn't seen it on any bodies but mine. I'll post a few pics, if ya like it I'll explain how to do it. regards caci |
