| Unimog
I've always liked these trucks. They're tough as nails. When I saw that Tamiya had released the CR-01 with a Unimog body, I had to hunt one down. It took like 5 minutes to find one, from an Ebay vendor in Japan; Jason's Store. They had it to me in 3 days somehow, their shipping was lightning fast. I'd seen several painted orange, including Tamiya promo photos, and it kind of grew on me. Some new orange rings fom RC4WD really set it off nicely: I shortened the wheelbase to fit the Unimog body, from 12'' to 9 1/2''. The driveline angles got a little extreme but it should be ok. I left the links at the same 55/45 length bias I had before (rear links are 3/8" longer) The pose shot. I kept a decent amount of articulation despite a 2 1/2" wheelbase chop, I was surprised. Slight amount of wheel rub. Trying to keep it somewhat scale looking. The Flatirons fit the body pretty good. I need to paint the chassis black. Other than that it looks ok. Now if it would just quit raining. I'm out of indoor projects... |

Maybe try some Geolanders on it, the truck does look great. I bet some RC4wd tall 1.9 tires would look perfect on this truck. |

it looks like it will do really good! Where is the body from? I assume you got it like that, painted with accessories?

It's a factory Tamiya replacement body. Comes like a Pro-Line/Bolink/HPI body, clear lexan w/ overspray film, in a bag with window masks and a decal sheet. Paint is Model Master classic black for the bumpers and fenders, and (for lack of anything better) Rustoleum orange. The mirrors, chrome grill, and all the stickers came with body. |

That is bad ass. I have always been a fan of Mogs. Hope my 1:1 has mog axles under it some day :P I like it though, looks very good. Probably going to have to get one of those bodies... I need a new one |
