Default VW type bodies

My local Hobby Town says you can't buy VW style bodies because VW sued Losi and that was the end of VW bodies....Is this true? If so, somebody must be making a knockoff of the beetle? I've seen some at our local competitions. My first car was a yellow beetle...I won't tell you the year or you'll know what an old geezer I am....:-P I'd like to put a Beetle type body on my new Berg build...

It would appear that "bug" style bodies can still be manufactured as long as they don't look exactly like a VW, or use the name "VW" or "BUG".

The CKRC body is called a "BAJA" and I've seen other bodies being sold as "BEETLE". I personaly like the CKRC body, but there are some other options out there.

Just painted mine up...nothin' fancy....just Pactra Comp Orange. It kinda looks like a classic "Beetle" color.

I have one of the Parma shells on the workbench now for my Scorp. The lexan's pretty thick, no roof scoop like the HPI version. Its also a hair narrower than the HPI version.

Next one's going to be the CKRC version (gotta support the industry). I also like ovals more than std. window Bugs.

The M04L version (also on the workbench) is closer in dimension to the Parma version, not as stretched out. As detailed as it is, almost seems a shame to chop it that much :-(

Default source for bug body's in these days when VW's licensing department goes mad...

Look.....

http://cgi.ebay.de/VW-KAFER-LEXANKAR...1%7C240%3A1318

It's a very good lexan replica of the VW bug body.

And if you're looking for a Sand Scorcher replica:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WOW-Tamiya-San...713.m153.l1262
Also in ABS...
You can find a lot of other good replicas there.....
