Lightbulb Lamborghini LM002 Body

I was wondering if anybody could gimme a hand. I'm looking for a Lamborghini LM002 body, it's hard to find mainly because not to many people know about it. 301 including 60 civilian models of the LM002 were built between 1986 and 1983, they were unofficially known as the rambo lambo. It was designed by Lamborghini for the US military, it orginally had a mid-mounted Chrysler V8 but it was switched to a front-mounted Countach V12. Only a fraction of LM002's are still running around, most sit in automotive museums, while others were destroyed. Most recently in 2004, the US military used a LM002 in Iraq that had belonged to Uday Hussein to test the effects of a car bomb, being unaware of it's rarity or value they went ahead and blew it up. I think this wound be an awsome body for a scale build I'm planning, if anybody knows where I can find a body let me know.

Tamiya made one a while back or so (20 years or more). It was about 1/12 scale and is now probably as rare as the 1/1 if not rarer than a cock's egg. You may check into a XR311 they are still around and look similar. I have one

I don't know if it's exactly what you're looking for but Tamiya made a 1/12 Cheetah

Ya I suppose, it couldn't be that hard to replicate because of all the sharp angles and flat panels, somthing to look into though.

By the way thanks Gula and bassguitar, I might look into getting a small Tamiya scale-model. The technical institute I went to has a vacume forming mold and digital re-imaging software. Maybe I'll just use a scale model, blow it up to size and mold one myself that's closer to what I'm lookin' for.

There's a 1:1 at Frontenac flea market in Port St. John Florida if anyone is in that area.

Geez... You're digging deep, aren't ya... Why exactly did you bring this up? I'm sure he never got the body, seeing as he never updated this thread in over a year.

I realize this thread is old...VERY old...but, someone (I just don't know which company) DID make them at some point. However, I assume it's no longer in production. There is an eBay seller who currently has 2 available. The only 'down' side is, there are no window stickers for 'blocking' out the windows for painting, and no decals.
The thing is, I've been searching for something "unique" for my new C3 rig. About a week ago, I remembered the "Rambo Lambo"(as it was referred to back in the 80s, when it was originally released) from my high school days, and decided to check into the possibility. That was before I even discovered this (dead?) thread. And, through my relentless googling, I came across this seller. She lives in CA, so, for those in the West Coast, shipping would be very quick...mine arrived two days after shipping (USPS 'ground').It's not 100% accurate...but, rarely are RC bodies. Overall, I think it looks extremely good...plus, with a few additional accessories, I think I might even be able to almost-duplicate the 1:1 version. What will probably be the most difficult is the headlights & taillights. At least, after 35+ years, I finally have a Lamborghini...LOL

Oh, it'll be hitting the rocks...well, hopefully not "hitting" (but, vehicles are known to roll). After all, it'll be a Class 3 rig. But, my new C3 will have a MUCH lower CoG...so, hopefully, it won't roll as times as my previous (CAPbRAstard) one did.

Crazy - I was recently looking to see if one of these exists. I found old stuff and some 3d printed bodies, but I don't have a printer. I'm a bit confused by the size - is the wheelbase 180mm or did I miss something?

Wow, they do exist.

How is it an oddball like an lm002 makes into the rc realm, but I'm still waiting for a decent lexan 3rd gen 4runner?

I still haven't had the time to accurately check the wheelbase length, but it's WAY longer than 180mm (which would be an incredibly short 7 inches)...I've NEVER seen a 1/10 RC with a 180mm wheelbase. Now, a 180mm width could, potentially, be possible for some vehicles...but, again, not the wheelbase.

Having quickly used a tape measure, I do know that it's not 12.3"...definitely shorter...so it looks like it won't work as a C3 body for my build. I'm guessing it's closer to 11" (somewhere around 280mm). I also have people above in another thread, so, once I've determined the actual wheelbase (or as close to accurate as possible), I'll be reporting said length in both threads.
