Does the CKRC bug body come with a protective film over the top so not to get overspray on the outside???

Thats just typical for ckrc. You realy need to be carefull when buying from them. Research the product your looking for and only buy from ckrc if you can't find it elsewhere.

Fascolor makes a paint on mask. Your lhs probably has it in stock as it sorta popular. If not several of the on line stores are sure to have it.

It's really not that big of a deal to paint a body without the outside protective film. It just takes a little extra care...

The trick to painting a body without protective film is to do it prior to cutting. The filled in wheel wells fend off the overspray nicely. I don't know if the ckrc bug is pre-cut or not.

It is not pre-cut.

The no film thing is no big deal. I just threw making tape on the outside edge and then a grocery bag on that losely. Took 5 minutes...no over-spray.

Yeah. Saran Wrap! Seriously, I just wrap it over the outside and tape off the edges of it at the edges of the body and go to town on the paint.

The reason I originally asked is I was going to attempt my first paint job with liquid mask and wanted to draw the design on the outside of the body. I was going to try a camo idea inspired by Crawler Graphics. I wanted to try it on the CKRC Body before jumping into a paint job on HPI Bug body. I guess I will try the camo idea on a body with a protective film. All the bodies I painted in the past without protective film I masked off with paper towels or a plastic bag. So yes it is no big deal if I masked the inside of the body like I normally do. Just thought I would try something different.

Draw your camo design on the inside on the liquid mask.

just use a sharpie and make sure the layer of masking is thick enough to stop bleed through of the pen.

Can you tell us why it's CKRC's fault? Your comment was pretty ignorant considering CKRC doesn't make the body.... they import and sell it
Before you go bashing a vendor, do a little more research
