Default Good material for stencils?

I've made a few stencils now mainly out of manila folder material, and I am unhappy with them. I want something that will be some what flexible so that it can bend around some of the body contours, but I would like to be able to clean the dried paint off of it without destroying it as well.
Any ideas?

These are generally given out for free and work awesome. Call your local hospital, etc. and ask for any throw away x-ray film. Use xacto to cut your shape or have some vinyl decals made (;)) and trace them out on the film...

yeah, used to shop there in person, great people, and very cheap prices. worth the hot water when you can get needles for less then a beer.

The stuff artists use is called "friskit", either as a thin film sheet that is low tack on one side, or a liquid you brush on and cut and peellike liquid mask, found at most art or craft stores.

frisk and vinyl are about the same thing except one costs more. i personally do a lot of airbrushing on gas tanks and don't like liquid masks or laytex for that matter. I do like the stretchable material, and vinyl but frisk is just too much for the amount you get, imo. did you check the prices at
