| metallic brown paintjob?
My next body is going to be a C-10 crawler body, metallic brown with maybe a white or offwhite cab. I was wondering if anyone out there has ever painted a body this color. I'm thinking of going with this color because you see alot of older cars and trucks this color. i think it would be something a little different than the normal colors you see often on crawlers, with a little old school flavor to it. So if you've ever used this color, i would like to see what its like on an rc body. Also, are there any companys making this color for lexan? I will probably end up mixing some fascolor until i get exactly what im looking for. thanks! |

Here's the body I did for my wife's truck. The metallic brown is really cool looking in the sun. |

I'll try to get some better photos of my SCX/Blazer CGR. I used a period (late 70s/early 80s) two tone of dark metallic brown with a tan side panel set off by chrome trim around the tan. I used Parma Fasbrown mixed with Pactra Acryl Metallic Gold to get the right size metal flakes in the paint, just a few drops did the trick and Parma Fastan. Alcad Chrome was used for the trim, grill and bumpers. I painted the dash and console the same as the body, brown. The storage diamond plate and tailgate panel was painted with Faskrome giving it a nice brushed aluminum look. I used Faswhite to back up all the color before laying down the chrome. I then backed the whole body with Fasblack. |
