If its other paint, then paint the outside of it flat black and call it a day.

Dont ask hobby shop guys, most of them dont know and just want you to buy the stuff.

It works but sometimes make the body milky and/or brittle, try it, what do you have to lose?

If you used acrylic paints the break fluid will take it off and the body will be clear. With all other paints, the break fliud will take it off but the body will have a haze to it. That doesn't matter because when you repaint it, you won't be able to tell and it will look ok. The reason it turns cloudy is because the paint has a chemical reaction with the plastic as you paint it, it kinda burns or eats into the plastic. To remove the paint with break fluid, pour some into the body and soak up the fluid with paper towels, press the paper towels up onto the sides etc. try to cover all painted areas with saturated paper towels. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then remove the paper towels. take one of the paper towels and scrub the body and more paint will come off. At this point about 1/2 of the paint is removed, usually the sealer and black backer color. if you have several layers of paint you soak it again for 15 minutes and then scrub with the saturated paper towels. usually 2 soaking will remove the paint. soaking the body allows the fluid to soak thru the paint to loosen it up.
Get a small can of fluid which costs about $2.50 and an hour of your time.
