| Couple questions
I'm doing up a 1/24th CJ7 for my micro and have a couple questions. The easy one first, I know we're not supposed to use lexan paint (rattle can) on the exterior of bodies but will it stick at all to a plastic model shell? It's not going to get much use so no biggie if it scratches off easy but I don't want to ruin the body. Also, will the solvent in the spray paint ruin all my glue work? Next, I have no experience working with these bodies but I need to stretch the wheelbase a little. The front is good but the rear wheel well needs to be moved back, I assume that's easier than stretching the body. I have a couple ideas but only one body so I'd rather get some input before I start cutting. I know I could just chop them off but I'd really like to keep the fender flares. I was thinking of cutting where I put the red line below and switching left side for the right side but then I'll still have the same size wheel well and it looks too small. Maybe I could cut like below and just move half the fender back, but then I'd have to fabricate the missing part of the fender flare. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated, sorry if it's been covered in another thread but I tried searching for the last ½ an hour and couldn't find anything useful. |

I missed that one, thanks. I never thought of removing the fenders completely, right to the inner wheel well like KC did. I might have to but I'd really like to keep the flares if possible. Lots of cool ideas in that thread though, cheers. | |
