| Painting lexan body outside
Want to paint the outside of a lexan body a flat olive green. I know when you paint them even on the inside your supposed to use the specific paint that will flex with the body and not crack and chip. What kind do I use for the outside? Will the paint you use on the inside be flat if sprayed on the outside? Any help is appreciated

The lexan paint is not quite "flat" when sprayed on the outside of the body but is is more of a satin or matte finish.....I guess. Here are two bodies I painted on the outside using Pactra lexan paint. |

I did this using a light coat of Bulldog followed by some camo green in a rattle can. |

So all lexan-compatible paint is created equal? Also, I've seen a lot of people put detailing and ink washes, and sealer coats over external lexan paint. Can any paint be used for that, applied over the lexan paint? |

I painted a body using Krylon Fusion paint. It is for plastic patio furniture. I did shoot the outside with Fascolor Silver, then topped that with the Krylon paint. It has held up really well. I laid down the silver first so once the black is scratched it looks like bare steel. I also painted the inside using Tamiya copper for lexan so once the silver is scratched it looks like rust. Here is a pic.... The woodgrain and gas can were also painted on the outside using Fascolor paints. |
