Ive dyed a bunch of delrin. I have an old plug in skillet that I got from a thrift store for $2, I always put in alittle dye then some water, just enough to cover what ever Im dying, then let it get to a boil-ish for a few minutes, just keep pulling it out with needle nose plyers to see what the color is like then when ever it looks done I turn it off and put the peice on a paper towel, its super easy....Its easy to over dye too and make it too dark.

i use a big pot and a spaghetti strainer and the liquid "RIT" dye ...put a little salt in the water and get it up to boiling add the dye and let it boil for a little bit put the strainer in the water and let the water boil again and then add the parts to the water and wait for about 5min or so and lift the strainer out to see what the parts look like ...i use the strainer so the parts do not touch the bottom of the pan and they seem to float around in the strainer for a better dye job...here are a few i did recently i hope this helps you |

yea the salt gets the water to a higher boiling point which expands the plastic a little more so the dye can absorb into it better, also i forgot to mention go buy a aluminum cheapy pan from the dollar store and fill it up with cold water so when you get the right color you can cool your parts off in it ....my ol'lady is pissed at me because i used her good tuper ware bowl the first time and got some dye marks in it |

Wal-Mart has Rit, but its not in the sewing/fabric/etc section where you think it would be. You'll find it in the laundry soap isle. I've never gotten any other brand to work properly. |
