99 percent of the bodies you see are not actually mojave bodies but hilux bodies from tamiya. You can get them from lots of places but I get mine from corey over at rpphobby.

David
It's been awhile since I've posted any progress pics on my Hilux. Here are a couple of new ones...............

Since my initial posting I've replaced the plastic drive shafts with steel ones, finished assembly of the body, mounted front & rear bumpers, painted the body crimson and added some silver stripes. Future plans include clear coating over the paint, changing the shocks, adding front inner fenders and putting a winch in the front bumper.

The majority of quad cab(4 door) bodies on RCCrawler are one-off custom creations.

I tried a quick search but didn't find anything. How do you give the body the smashed up look? I read one mention of a lighter but didn't give an explanation on the procedure.

Use the lighter to apply heat to the specific area that you want to look dented/damaged, then you can use different objects to obtain the look you are trying to achieve. One example is to use a small nail or sewing needle to create pin holes in the bottom of the fenders to simulate the effects of rust. Another example, use a large wooden dowel to flatten the profile of the front fender making it look like the truck has been in a minor accident. Bottom line....be creative. I'm sure you can think of other ways to get the effect that you desire.

Mine is finally together. Just waiting on my LEDs to come in. Where is everybody getting the winch bumpers? I got a winch but the only bumpers I was seeing were like $50. Anybody have plans to make one?
