Question New Bright Swamp Dawg Jeep Hardbody Prep

Okay I have been searching and cant find anything on the matter but am looking for other users that have used this body for their scale projects and ways that they have prepped them for paint and body work.

I will be using 220,320 and 400 grit sand paper to get it prepped so I think im good on the sanding part.
Thanks

soak it in brake fluid. Took 75% off easily, the rest needed a scotch bright pad and some elbow grease and mine came out great.

I remember reading something about DOT 4 being the better choice as opposed to DOT 3, works better.

Im going to sand the body itself after removing the stickers, good idea on removing from the lenses though, anyone got any build links I can see what they have done with theirs?

Thanks guys

I heard about graffiti remover, but never tried it. I did so much body work to mine that my constant sanding took it all off.

JK Newbright Mud Removal

Covered pretty well. Sanding works great but I think taking off material on an already brittle body isn't that great of an idea, but that's just me. A heat gun or lighter works real well at getting the stickers off without leaving residue. Just heat it up and peel it off, works great.

Also, soak a shop towel in Dot4 and just drape it over the muddy sections. Works better than trying to completely submerge the body.

I think that would only work for the sticky left after peeling off the stickers.

I had a friend of mine paint an H3 body for me with automotive paint. IIRC he just sanded the body and painted it, he said some primers/paint will destroy the body. If you are interested in having him paint yours shoot me a PM. There is a post here in the body section with some pictures.

edit, found a link
