Default Custom Plastic tube bed?

Hey what's up? I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience in making a tube bed out of plastic. Unfortunately I don't have a place or the talent...(let alone the cash flow...stupid university classes)..to attempt to learn to braze. If anyone has any ideas on how I could pull this off I would appreciate it. It may also be useful to let ya know that my rig is a scx10 with a tamiya tundra cab..thanks

Really your best bet is to build out of metal and braze it up. Plastic is going to be quite a bit more work with weak joints depending on format used to attach said plastic.

Its like saying: you dont have a welder but you want a cage for your 1:1 rig..... using threaded pipe and pipe fittings is just a waste of time and will not hold up.

I have seen cages in the past that were threaded and held together using 3mm hardware. I can be done but in the end it would have prolly been quicker, cheaper, and stronger brazing it together.

If I was to go this route I would use delrin tube. With a dremel and assorted bits, along with a tap for 3mm screws you could probably work something nice out.

Give it a try and see how it turns out.

Thanks for the reply guys....yeah I understand I would be better off brazing. However I found an okay replacement. I used thick black tubing for a sprinkler system...its light and melts and bends easily...although I did not pull off the cage....it did allow me to complete a dovetail on the tundra with ease.

Sorry this just reminds me of "poo pipe" builds on PBB
