| Hardbody and Lexan Painting
Well I no longer enjoy painting up bodies like I used to...I've found that I enjoy building and tuning more than aesthetics...lol. With my Tamiya hard bodies I seldom primer them since they are shelf queens. However I am mounting a Tundra hard body onto a CC-01 stretched chassis to use as a class 1 banger rig, and this will be the first time I think I'm going to need primer. All primer does is just help the TS paints adhere to the body better right? With lexan bodies painting is pretty easy a few coats, drying in between and then backing. My question is...how many coats is too much? I know it depends on paint and such but usually I do about 3-4 coats and then I use one coat of backing. However on one of my on roads that I have as a show car the color didn't come out the way I wanted and I think I ended up backing it with 3-4 coats on top of the original 3 coats of color. I have a feeling there's going to be crazy chipping! |
