Rattle can? If so, did you heat up the paint?

Different paints/brands have different cure times that allow you a certain window of time before you can re-coat the paint. For example some paints say you must re-coat before 3 hours or after 48hours so if you try to put on another coat after 3 hours or before the 48hours it can cause the paint to pull or alligator(crack look). This is only 1 reason there could be many reasons such as, applying paint on a un-prepped surface, or using 2 different types/brands of paint on top of each other etc. be sure to always use enamel on enamel acrylic on acrylic etc etc. Lastly you should always do a test on a scrap piece of material preferably the same material as the body your painting. If you want a go at removing the paint that already cracked on you then you can sand it off after its completely dry or use something like Mr paint remover or something similar and alot of elbow grease to rub it off. EDIT: Also from personal experience i can tell you to do a few really light coats instead of trying to get the color you want in one coat this helps with not cracking the paint. I have noticed sometimes if i go too heavy with a coat it can still cause a bit of the pulling/cracking even if i am in the allotted window of time. GOOD luck! | well recoat times were within 24 hours and after 7 days and dry to the touch in 15 minutes. I waited about 15 minutes and sprayed 2 light coats and then one heavier coat. it started looking textured when I sprayed the second coat and got worse with the third. I sanded the gloss off the body, then wiped it clean with paint thinner. No primer, just krylon fusion, so no mixing paints either... |

sometimes the paint might not stick properly if you dont clean the body or if you use a paint that doesnt have any additives for clinging to plastic and that could also be your problem

I used krylon fusion on some parts and had a similar problem. When you get it cleaned up and ready to paint again no matter what wash it with dish soap first and then wait a couple hours between coats. It took about 6hrs to get three coats but it looked good.

the paint thinner might have something to do with it, once it starts doing that it is hard to beat. you can try and sand it down but you need to be sure to clean it with lots of soap and water then i would start with very light coats. the paint can also be to hot.
