Default How do you paint a DX3R?

I dont know which topic to put this question in, but since it was paint, i just put it here. dont want to upset the admin.

But here i go, after a years worth of abuse, my DX3R has a lot or scratches and scuffs, and it looks really ugly now. i've seen people paint their DX3R. Does anyone know how to paint the DX3R? Thanks

They make wraps, which are alot easier. There's a couple of guys on here that make them.

Yes, but even with wraps, it doesnt cover the whole radio. I was thinking of painting the radio first, then buying wraps, so the uglyness of the radio wouldnt shine through.

sand it and get paint for plastic. take it apart or mask the trigger and such. I painted my old traxxas TQ 3 two years ago and it still looks good some of the paint around the trigger has worn off.

when you said paint for plastic, are you refering to like Tamiya Plastic model paint? or just any paint at home depot that will bond with plastic?

You can use Krylon Fusion paint. It is specially designed for plastic.

Default paint

I have used the fusion paint a few times and it chips off pretty easy.I used some autonotive paint for plastic thats flexable and it works real good with clear coat.

I agree on the clear coat, such as Krylon or such. But I have had great results with the Tamiya or Pactra spray paints for polycarbonate then clear, severals coats .......
