| How to paint hard body's
So I just checked out the sticky on top that says "excellent paint guide/tips" but the link is not working... So I was just wondering how to paint hard body's? the ones that you get off of toy grade RC's....So Im guessing just sand of the old paint, then prime then paint right? and for the paint, I use something like a Plastic Paint? (ex. Krylon fusion) Thanks guys....Im newb at hard body's.. |

You can use dish washing detergent and let the entire body soak overnight to remove the toy stickers. "New Bright" banners on the windshields usually take Acetone and a bit of work to get off cleanly. With the paint some people use DOT3 brake fluid to get rid of the old paint. I've never done this method but I'd rather sand a bit at time...that way I can see exactly what I'm doing. then primer to see some spots....then sand some more...then primer a bit...then sand some more....putty along the way to seal up any cracks or areas I want smoothed out. Once completely satisfied and smooth shoot a coat of primer. Then shoot your color. Good luck! Btw I hate hard bodies lol. |
